This report examines the situation of asylum-seeking girls and women in Germany and Sweden, who are in many cases ‘’hidden’’ and unsupported victims of different types of violence. The report highlights the vulnerabilities of female refugees and the lack of special care and attendance of their particular needs in shelter centres, where asylum seekers must live while their claims are processed. The report provides case studies and it also gives recommendations to achieve a more fair and gender sensitive asylum procedures.
