This report offers a feminist overview of women’s rights and gender equality in Europe, both in public and private spheres. It measures how far the EU Member States and candidate countries are from the perfect equality between women and men. The report measures women’s situation and gender equality in three fundamental areas: women in decision making, women’s socio-economic status, violence against women and women’s sexual and reproductive rights.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
