This report highlights the different types of violence Egyptian women face, in the private and public spheres, in prisons and detentions centres. It brings into attention the obligations of Egypt under international law, and urgent measures of the government to effectively investigate and stop violence against women. It also sheds the light on the need to end discrimination against women in law and practice, ensuring that women are able to take part in public life.
