This study highlights the impact of stereotypes on gender equality, women’s rights, gender based violence and society development in Morocco.It is based on a qualitative and quantitative approach, with a large sample of interviews, both in rural and urban areas in the country and taking into consideration women from different cultural and professional backgrounds.The study focuses on the main areas where these stereotypes exist such as: family and domestic sphere, work, school public sphere leadership positions…etc.The study addresses civil society organizations, as well as governmental, educational and political bodies, in order to achieve a change in mentalities, policies and attitudes towards the issue of gender stereotypes.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
