Women in the EU continue to be underrepresented in all economic and political decision making bodies at all levels.This article presents views by 8 women from different backgrounds like management, research and politics, on the means to encourage women’s empowerment and participation in decision making, in their countries of origin, and at the EU level.The aim of the article is to highlight the importance of women´s participation in decision-making and their representation in leadership positions.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
