The present report reviews the status of women and girls in Palestine over the period July 2012 - June 2014, outlining the positive developments and the significant challenges done in terms of gender equality. It describes the political situation in Palestine in general and its impact on women´s rights. It also sets out the demographic and socioeconomic factors that affect the lives of women and girls in Palestine. It highlights as well the gender gap in employment despite the high levels in education among women. Finally it examines women’s political representation and rights and the efforts needed in order to achieve gender equality and full human rights for women in Palestine.
