This book analyses the struggle and resistance deployed by Muslim women in sports and their claim to full and equal participation and rights. It evinces the various ways women in sport negotiate political and ideological boundaries, in order to bring about gender equitable opportunities, while at the same time redefining their role in society. It illustrates how women debunk exclusionary masculinist logics in sport that are justified by nationalism.
