The term “gender” is still considered vague and misunderstood by many fractions of society and policymakers in the Arab World.This study aims to clarify the concept and provide a better understanding of the issues of gender and gender equality in the Arab countries. It provides an analysis of the problems of translating the term and an explanation to its importance, especially in the fields of development. It addresses mainly educational institutions, policy makers and civil society’s activists in the Arab world.
