This report explains the issue of gender pay gap, which varies across the countries of the European Union. It identifies the main causes of the gender pay gap and the elements that contribute to increase it.This report provides a map of the gender pay gap in the 28 member countries, which shows that across the EU economy, women earn an average around 16.4% less than men. The report also highlights measures taken by the EU to address gender pay gap and some of the actions, tools, and strategies on a national level.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
