This report provides a timely and compelling analysis of the impact of the Syrian regional conflict on women and girls.Women and children constitute the majority of refugees and the internally displaced persons, as a result of the Syrian conflict, that started in 2011.This report sheds light on the conditions of women and girls, both inside Syria and in the refuge countries, namely Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq.Women in the Syrian conflict suffer many types of violence and difficulties, such as sexual and gender based violence, early and forced marriage, sexual exploitation, economic strife and trauma.The report provides recommendation for women´s protection and empowerment in conflict conditions, addressed to donor agencies, governments in host countries, and humanitarian organizations.
