During the last decade, countries in the MENA region have made a progress in gender equality and women´s rights, still, these achievement haven´t ensured an equal role for women on a political and economic level, and women´s participation outside the home is still considered limited. The report questions the traditional gender norms and legal frameworks that limit women’s agency, and the participation of women in the work force. It also argues the reforms to be made on multiple fronts to guarantee equal opportunities for women, especially during this transformation period the Arab countries are witnessing, after 2011.
