This report explains the reality of refugee women who head their household alone, and who fled Syria to Jordan, Lebanon or Egypt. It casts light on the traumatic experience of women who escaped war, and found themselves in new changed roles, responsible for their families. The report is based on a fieldwork that was conducted between February and April 2014: 135 in-depth interviews with Syrian women in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. It provides quantitative and qualitative information about their situation, the difficulties they face regarding housing, food, health, work, financial security, etc. The report also tells us about the types of violence Syrian women face as a result of the conflict, in Syria and in refugee countries.
