This report aims to understand the risks that Syrian refugee families, especially women and girls, face in Jordan, and to provide a deeper understanding of Syrian urban refugees’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards gender-based violence. It was carried out with the participation of a range of community-based stakeholders in 11 of Jordan’s 12 governorates.
The report focuses on early and forced marriage, gender-based violence, community relations, child protection and access to basic resources and services.
The findings are based on data collected through a questionnaire; focus group discussions; and in-depth interviews with key informants, community leaders and service providers from all regions, selected for their knowledge about the living conditions of the target population
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
