This report reviews the achievements of Slovenia in gender promotion and women’s empowerment since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in 1995, and the 23rd UN extraordinary session and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Violence Against Women. It describes the institutional and legal developments made by the government and monitors the progress in some fields, notably in poverty, education and training, health, violence against women and economy.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
