This report concerns the legislative and administrative measures taken by the British government between 2007 and 2011 to give effect to the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). They include the changes introduced by the 2010 Equality Act and the main elements of the Government’s Equality Strategy “Building a Fairer Britain", published in December 2010. It also addresses the CEDAW Committee's recommendations in response to the 5th and 6th Periodic Reports, submitted in 2007.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
