The report describes the final evolution of the joint multisectoral programme to fight against gender-based violence through women’s and girls’ empowerment in Morocco (TAMKINE), conducted from 2008 to 2012. This programme is a pioneering experience in terms of coordination and governance as it brings together 13 ministerial departments, 8 United Nations System agencies and civil society mainly represented by over 40 NGOs. This report has two objectives: on the one hand, to assess the achievements and effects in relation to what was previously planned; and, on the other, to identify good practices and lessons learnt to improve the durability of the progress at a national level and see how they can be reproduced in other Moroccan regions and at international level.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
