This report presents the results of the implementation of the conclusions reached at the Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Strengthening the Role of Women in Society, which took place in Istanbul in 2006, for the period June 2007 to July 2008. The report has been prepared on the basis of partner country responses on progress made in the three pillars of the Istanbul Declaration: civil and political rights; socio-economic rights and sustainable development; role of communication and the media. Finally, countries had to identify three priority areas of action for the next period, namely 2008-2009.
