The document is the third review of the implementation of the commitments made by the ministers of 37 Euro-Mediterranean partner countries during the Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on strengthening the role of women in society held in Istanbul in 2006. To prepare the report, the European Commission used the results of questionnaires sent to all the partners in the region, which the different states answered voluntarily. The first part introduces the actions taken and the results obtained during the period 2008-2009, while the second part describes the future priority fields of action.
