This report provides scientific data on the prevalence of two forms of violence against women: intimate private violence and non-partner sexual violence. It provides world and regional estimates of the prevalence of each type of violence, based on data from the whole world. Moreover, the report gives an account of the consequences of gender-based violence on the physical, sexual, reproductive and mental health of women.
