This report reviews the measures, policies and actions developed in the framework of the implementation of the national priorities in terms of policies and action axes for gender equality 2004-2008. It monitors the following action axes: a) combating trafficking in women for the purpose of their economic / sexual exploitation, b) the establishment of legislative regulations combating domestic violence and sexual harassment in the workplace, c) promotion of women’s employment, d) combating gender stereotypes via educational and awareness-raising programmes tailored to the education community, and e) the adoption of affirmative actions to increase women’s participation and representation in decision-making structures and processes.
