The programme TAMKINE was launched in Morocco in 2008 in the framework of numerous initiatives aimed at promoting women's rights. The programme firmly insists on the empowerment of women and girls as well as the eradication of violence against women. This programme consists of developing two strategies: on the one side, the institutionalization of gender and women's rights in national policies and development programmes and, on the other, the territorialisation of gender-sensitive national policies.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
