This booklet, aimed at the education world, proposes concrete actions to encourage girls to engage in scientific and technical jobs and efficiently fight against the received ideas about their studies. After a historical summary, the document shows that there is no biological foundation for the different orientation of girls and boys. Later, it analyses the stereotypes linked to the disciplines and to the portrayal of jobs. Finally, the document depicts the situation of women in scientific and technical professions in France along with portraits of women researchers and engineers and examples of contributions by women to science and technology.
