This document was drafted by the Joint Working Group on Gender Equality of the EU Audiovisual Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee (AVSDC) in 2010-2011. It focuses on the following fields: gender representation on the screen; equal pay; equity in decision-making; gender roles at work; reconciliation of work and personal life. These issues had been previously identified in the AVSDC statement on equal opportunities.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
