This report was produced in the framework of the programme entitled "Promoting Gender Equality in the Euro-Mediterranean Region" implemented in nine southern Mediterranean countries. The report lists the efforts made in favour of gender equality. It notably focuses on legal reforms, decision-making processes and gender-based violence, taking as frameworks of reference the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW, 1979) and the Istanbul Ministerial Conclusions (2006).
