This study was launched on the occasion of a workshop held in Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 2010 aimed at improving employment policies in the country. All the parties present (including national and federal employment agencies, employers and workers) concluded that strengthening gender equality was one of the main priorities. The report provides a detailed view of gender inequalities in the labour market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it focuses on legislation in this field. It also explores the reasons for the low participation of women in the labour market and analyses the gender stereotypes leading to a segregation of labour by gender.
