The Commission on the Status of Women was the first UN intergovernmental body to study the responsibility of men in gender equality in depth. This publication explores the possibilities of encouraging men to participate in gender-related activities, in the fields of health, paternity, violence, violence in the workplace, and the need to involve youths. Thus, it is important to emphasize two levels: the cooperation with men concerning their attitudes and personal behaviour and mobilization in relation to political, economic and social structures of male power that perpetuate inequalities.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
