This study examines women migration between the two shores of the Mediterranean, highlighting the contribution of migrant women to development and social change. The study approaches this issue from different points of view: women legal migration and employment; women migration in irregular situation, and women migration as a development factor. The study, focused on 18 Euro-Mediterranean countries (9 from the south and 9 from the north), is based on the analysis of different documents (statistics, legislations, official reports, field surveys) from research centres and institutes in the Euro-Mediterranean region. It emphasizes the multidimensional process of women migration.
