This edition' s Report on World Employment Trends is devoted to women. It seeks to assess the impact of the financial crisis and the slowdown of world economic growth on employment according to gender. The Report updates the indicators related to the status of women in the labour markets and it analyses the evolution of the labour market in developed economies. The Report provides a projection of labour market indicators in 2008 and 2009 and it points out a certain number of issues, such as men-women disparities in activity, unemployment rates or the over-representation of women in vulnerable employment (i.e. unpaid family workers and freelancers).
