This document assesses the implementation of the ministerial conclusions and the action framework adopted by the 37 Euro-Mediterranean partner countries on the occasion of the Ministerial Conference on Enhancing the Role of Women in Society, held in Istanbul in 2006. The report is divided into two main sections: on the one hand, the actions undertaken and the results achieved and, on the other, the future priorities. It addresses three main fields: women' s civil and political rights; women' s social and economic rights and sustainable development; women' s rights in the cultural field, and the role of communications and the media.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
