This report provides statistics on the status of women in the United Kingdom based on a wide range of issues: participation in political and public life; education; employment; earnings; gender segregation of the labour market; housework; the legal system; health; abortion; economic and social benefits; violence against women; homeless women; sexual trafficking and prostitution; prison; migrant women. The statistics come from official sources (Ministry of Justice, World Health Organization, etc.) as well as diverse studies and works.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
