02.06.2015 / Created by (EMWF)

This brochure is the result of an analysis of the situation conducted in three Maghreb countries on the participation of women in political life. It enumerates economic, cultural and social obstacles, such as the distribution of gender roles, the insufficient institutional instruments, the elimination of women politicians from the media scene, the inadequate command of the new information and communication technologies or the lack of personal networks. Finally, the brochure presents opportunities that can contribute to encouraging the political participation of women.
