Civil and political rights - Italy

Shadow Report

29.05.2015 / Created by (EMWF)

In December 2009, the Italian government submitted its 6th periodic report to the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The organizations linked to the platform 30 years CEDAW: work in progress drafted an alternative report in order to highlight the critical aspects of the Italian system against gender discrimination. Based on a consultation with civil society organizations, feminist and women’s associations, LGBTQI movements and experts on gender discrimination, it points out the main challenges faced by Italian women to promote their rights.
