Through case studies, this report examines the legal system regarding women' s access to their rights. It emphasizes the importance of the role played by women legislators, lawyers and activists as agents of change within the legal system and the fact that, despite the legal reforms, the judicial system does not work for all women. The report focuses on four key fields: the legal and constitutional frameworks; the justice chain; the plural legal systems; and the conflict and post-conflict contexts.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
