Pay Gap between Men and Women in the European Union. Quantitative and Qualitative Indicators

29.05.2015 / Created by (EMWF)

This report seeks to provide an overall view of pay inequalities in Europe, based on nine indicators approved by the Council of Ministers of the European Union (EU) in 2001, and to formulate a proposal for updating these indicators, bearing in mind statistical developments and the legislative evolution that have taken place since then. The report focuses on revealing the factors explaining the pay gap in the EU and is divided into two sections: the first part deals with updating of quantitative indicators while the second is devoted to qualitative indicators focused on public policies on eliminating pay gaps between men and women.
