This report is based on the understanding that, despite several measures favouring professional gender equality, inequalities persist in the pay levels as well as in women’s access to executive positions in the public office. After having examined the measures implemented in several European countries, the report presents a summary on several aspects: recruitment; career path and evolutions; women' s access to executive positions; pay policy, professional-private life reconciliation; awareness-raising of coeducation, and professional equality.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
