This report presents a compilation of statistics disaggregated by gender concerning the main childhood and adolescence stages in the developing world. It examines a selection of indicators currently available to measure the well-being and assess the rights of children from early childhood to young adulthood (breast-feeding, nutrition, care, forced marriage and sexual relations, education, level of information on HIV/AIDS...). By offering an assessment that takes gender differences into account, the objective is to help shed light on future policies and programmes.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
