This methodological tool enables analysis of the monitoring of the media coverage during the electoral campaigns. The manual, based on the experiences of six Latin American institutions, offers a useful tool to promote equitable media coverage in other electoral contexts. Its objective is to assess the media coverage of the electoral campaigns in Latin America from a gender perspective enabling identification of inequality in the approach to men and women candidates. The manual also examines the importance given to gender equality issues in questions debated during the campaigns.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
