This report summarizes the content of the World Development Report 2012 on ways of improving the life of girls and women throughout the world. It invites countries to draw more attention to gender inequalities in four key sectors: reducing mortality among women and removing the gaps in education; improving access to economic opportunities; shrinking gender differences in voice in households and in societies; and limiting the reproduction of gender inequality across generations.
