Tunisia ratified the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in 1985 by virtue of Law no. 85-68 of 12 July 1985. This report forms part of the framework of reports that the Tunisian government must periodically submit to the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination against Women by virtue of article 18 of CEDAW. The report, which takes into account the progress made since the period 1999-2007, provides answers to questions arising from the Committee when examining the third and fourth reports of Tunisia, which took place in June 2002. Thus, the report enables better understanding of the Tunisian approach regarding the implementation of CEDAW.
