"Because I am a Girl" is an annual report published by Plan International examining the rights of girls in the world. Although women and children are recognized as belonging to specific categories in terms of politics and planning, the particular needs and rights of girls are often ignored. Based on the realization that gender inequality and violence against girls are passed on within families and schools, the report points out the importance of raising awareness among boys from an early ageabout gender equality and shows how men can make their contribution to the creation of a more egalitarian society.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
