From the perspective of the European GenderEquality Summit 2011, genSET and the European Social Fund launched a public consultation on the future of equality and research in Europe. More than 300 individual and institutional responses from 42 countries were received. The consultation sought to increase awareness of gender issues in the public consultation of the EC Green Paper "From Challenges to Opportunities: Towards a Common Strategic Framework for EU Research and Innovation Funding". This report summarizes the responses in the three dimensions covered by the consultation: Enhancing Research Quality; Advancing Effectiveness and Innovation; and Promoting Structural Change.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
