TheGlobal Gender Gap Report 2011, launched by the World Economic Forum in 2006, is a framework that explains the scope of the gender-based disparities and monitors their evolution. The report compares the gender gaps between different countries at an economic, political, educational and health level and provides a ranking of the countries, enabling efficient comparisons between the regions. Thanks to these rankings, the report seeks to raise greater awareness of the challenges posed by gender disparities for an equitable distribution of resources and opportunities to reduce them.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
