This report reviews national legislative provisions on maternity protection and shows how well national laws and practices conform to the ILO Maternity Convention, 2000 (No. 183) and the Workers with Family Responsibilities Convention, 1981 (No. 156). The report compares the national legislations at work in 185 countries and territories with the most recent ILO regulations on the subject. It is based on data collected by ILO since 1994 on maternity, paternity and parental leave, health protection, employment and non-discrimination protection, breastfeeding arrangements at work, and childcare.
