On Saturday May 22, 2021, the opening of "Monodrama - Lebanon’s International Theatrical Festival for Women" will take place at 6pm.
This year is the second edition of the festival, which will be stramed live from the Lebanese National Theatre in Tyre. The motto for this second edition is "For freedom and equality".
The festival will host local and international shows revolving around women’s issues.
The honorees at the festival will be the actress Randa Al-Kaadi, the actress Bernadette Hadib. Monodrama will also honour the life and the work of actress Renee Deek, researcher Watfaa Hammadi and Dr. Fadwa Hashem, who recently passed away.
The festival will be stramed via youtube.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
