The Arab and Mediterranean Film Festival of Catalonia reaches its 14th edition to keep giving voice to Arab and Mediterranean cinema. It will take place between November 12-15, 2020 entirely online, adjusting its format to the restrictions tied to the Covid pandemic. The topic chosen for the 2020 edition envisages a gender perspective, as it considers collective, private and everyday forms of resistance.

The Festival will feature unreleased films and also classic movies. This year, the films in the classic movies section have been selected by the prestigious Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri, whose works tend to focus on portraying the realities of women and children in Palestine and Lebanon. One of her documentaries, Frontiers of Dreams and Fears, will inaugurate the Festival.
From October 22 to November 1, the Festival will show via the platform Filmin another celebrated documentary by another woman filmmaker, Those who remain by the Lebanese Eliane Raheb. 2020 also marks the year in which, under the umbrella of the Arab and Mediterranean Film Festival of Catalonia, the Short film festival “Palestine through the eyes of women” was born.
