The short film festival “Palestine through the eyes of women” will take place from October 7 to October 14, 2020, in Barcelona, Girona and Terrassa, and online. The Festival represents a unique opportunity to watch five short films directed by Palestinian filmmakers.
The initiative is born out of the collaboration between the association Hèlia, SODEPAU and the Health Work Committees, developed over a period of five years within the framework of several projects in Palestine revolving around the health and the participation of Palestinian women.
The festival has been made possible on the basis of the alliance amongst three cinema festivals committed to the Palestinian cause: the Mostra de Cinema Àrab i Mediterrani de Catalunya; the Nazra: Palestine short film festival (Italy) and the Festival Ciné-Palestine (Paris), all of them seeking to disseminate the history, culture and the every-day life of Palestine through cinema.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
