Visit our art exhibition on breaking gender roles in Barcelona

Our new art exhibition "Drawing 4 Equality: Challenging gender roles on both sides of the Mediterranean" (in Catalan, "Drawing 4 Equality. Desafiant els rols de gènere a les dues ribes de la Mediterrània"), co-organised with our founding member and current headquarters, the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), keeps travelling to different cultural centres and exhibit rooms. You can currently visit it in Barcelona, at l’Ateneu l’Harmonia (Harmonia Civic Centre) (Carrer de Sant Adrià, 20), which also previously welcomed our photography exhibition "Women in action: Breaking Stereotypes in the Euro-Mediterranean Region".

The exhibit displays the 20 illustrations finalists of the contest under the same name, launched by our Foundation and the IEMed at the beginning of 2019. These artworks show diverse perceptions and thoughts about gender roles and intend to break the norms that women and men are expected to play in society. The competition received 270 inspiring illustrations from 30 different countries.

After its inauguration at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans - IEC (Institute for Catalan Studies) last September, the exhibition will keep travelling during this year. Keep an eye on our website and social media accounts for future displays! For the moment, you will find it at l’Ateneu l’Harmonia from the 7th to the 20th of January 2020.

* Exhibition available in Catalan and English.

The copyright of the artworks is exclusively owned by the artists. In case you want to use one of the images, always credit the artist and ask for his/her permission.
