On 18 and 19 October 2019, Paris will host the International Conference "More Women for More Peace" which will bring together dozens of inspiring women from 9 conflict-torn countries who will explain the crucial and indispensable role of women in the establishment of a lasting peace.
Two members of the network of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation (EMWF) will take part in these two days of meetings, exchanges and communication, organized by the National Federation of Mothers for Peace / France, namely, the Association Djazairouna whose president, Chérifa Kheddar (Algeria), will speak of the duties of memory, justice, truth and dignity; while Maria Al Abdeh (Syria), executive director of Women Now for Development, will focus on the role of women in the fight against impunity in Syria.
The conference will include two plenary sessions, four workshops (justice and peace, leadership and peace, leadership and peace, and the surveillance network), the "Woman of Peace" award ceremony to the 2018 laureates, a march to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Ascq massacre and a gala dinner to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Mothers for Peace".
The conference will be followed, on October 20, by a concert for peace with the participation of 25 singers from the Geneva Gospel Academy.
