On September 11 and 12, 2019, the EuroMed Women for Dialogue Forum will be held in Amman (Jordan), organized by the Anna Lindh Foundation.
This important meeting aims to encourage women’s role as agents for the promotion of intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region, as well as discuss the prevailing gender stereotypes that prevent women from a full participation in their societies.
The Forum will take the Final Declaration of the UfM Ministerial Conference on Strengthening the Role of Women in Society (Cairo, 2017) and the progress report following the UfM Regional Dialogue on Women Empowerment (Barcelona, 2017) as starting points for the conversation.
Representatives of civil society organisations, institutions, media and youth groups will present the most recent data and experiences they led in media, education, business and cultural fields. The event will also serve as a space to give voice to women who contribute to break gender stereotypes through their stories.
The Forum will be structured around:
*One of our founding members, the Forum Femmes Méditerannée, also Head of the French Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation, will be participating in the event.
*Another founding member and our current headquarters, the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), is the Head of the Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
