The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is organising the third edition of Women Business Forum (WBF) in the margins of the Smart City Expo World Congress on 19-21 November 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.
The WBF aims a providing a platform for dialogue, exchange of experience and networking opportunities for women-owned and women-led-businesses for women’s economic empowerment, particularly in the MENA region, and with African and European countries.
The forum’s agenda will include a side-event on “Promoting the Role of Women in circular economy” as well as two sessions in the Conference Agora space on “Women in tech and innovation in the Mediterranean”.
The forum will also include B2B networking and matchmaking, product and business concept exhibition and site visits. The panels and keynote addresses will include high-level business experts and policy makers that will offer the opportunity to share knowledge, ideas and advice on various business opportunities, good practices and success stories in doing business for women entrepreneurs.
The event is organized with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
The Smart City Expo World Congress 2019 aims to be the meeting point to encourage all the stakeholders, ranging from technology industries entrepreneurs, to engage in dynamic through to policy-makers and action to enable a sustainable and inclusive future to take hold.
To this end, the event will focus on five main tracks touching on the most pressing issues facing cities: Digital Transformation, Urban Environment, Mobility, Governance & Finance, and Inclusive & Sharing Cities.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
